Houghton Warranty Terms

Houghton Air Conditioners come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Please note that the warranty is in relation to the product supplied, not the installation. If there is any issue with the installation of a product, you must contact the installer directly.

 

In the first instance warranty issues must be reported to Karma Air by way of completing the warranty claim form at www.karmaair.org or phoning 0448 691 433. All claims must be accompanied by correct Serial Number, proof of purchase of unit and location of Van

 

  • Warranty is for a period of Two years (24 months) from date of original purchase except for when used for commercial purposes, then One year (twelve months) applies .

  • Warranty covers workmanship and materials against defects.

  • Warranty is available to original owner only.

  • Warranty repairs and replacements will be undertaken by Karma Air or an authorised repairer. Unless the owner has prior written consent from Karma Air, Karma Air will not reimburse the owner under the Warranty for repairs undertaken by an unauthorised repairer.

  • Warranty repairs and replacements will be free of charge unless an on-site repair is requested in which case a service call fee will apply.

  • The replacement of components, whether under warranty or not, during the warranty period does not prolong the original warranty period for the component or product.

  • This warranty does not cover:

    • Faults caused by incorrect installation or maintenance, incorrect voltage or connection, lightning, external damage, accidents, moisture or any conditions beyond our control

    • Faults caused by unauthorised repair or other measures carried out or undertaken by any party who is not authorised by us or the manufacturer;

    • Costs or inconvenience the product may have caused because of a defect on the product.  We will not be liable for any cost, loss, liability or expense, whether direct, indirect special or consequential associated with any delays that may result in your inability to use any vehicle or boat on which the product has been installed.

    • any costs associated with travel or call out fees by the service agent

    • Where the installation of the unit is not compliant with the method as described by the Manufacturer

    • Problems occurring with the use of Generators. It is highly recommended that the user takes advice from the Generator supplier as to the suitability of their product when used in conjunction with Houghton Air Conditioners

 

The Warranty will not apply in certain circumstances, unless agreed to prior to purchase, including where the Air conditioner has been:

  • used for a purpose other than which it was designed

  • used for commercial purposes

  • subject to an accident
